For a small congregation, Pleasantville Community Synagogue has an amazingly active Adult Education program. We have been fortunate over these past few years to have been able to bring in as scholars-in-residence some of the leading lights of Jewish spirituality – Rabbis Lawrence Kushner, Shefa Gold, Marcia Prager, and Chazzan Jack Kessler – of Jewish thought – Drs. Neil Gilman, Michael Chernick, and Alan Morinis – and of Jewish Healing – Rabbis Zahara Davidowitz Farkas and Pamela Wax.

In the past we have offered Adult Education classes and workshops in: Hebrew, Talmud, Torah and Haftarah Cantillation, the Philosophy of Dr. Abraham Joshua Heschel, Jewish Denominations, Jewish Parenting, Women’s Torah Study, Sacred Autobiography; wonderful lay-lead studies of the Jewish calendar, the period called the Omer, and more.
