Shabbat service times are Friday nights at 7:15 pm, and Saturday mornings at 9:00 am. Members, non-members, children, and adults are welcome and warmly invited to all of our services.
Our Friday night service runs until about 8:30 pm, and is a joyous welcome to the "day of being." We gather to sing, chant, and (at one point) even dance. A way to transition from the pulls and stresses of the week to a more centered, calm, and forgiving place. Friendships are born on Friday night!
Our Saturday morning service begins at 9:00 am, and usually runs until about Noon. The first hour, some say, is the most "spiritual" part of the morning service. We basically follow one rule: when we have a choice to either read or sing, we sing. At about 10:00 am we begin our Torah service, a discussion about the weekly reading and the chanting of the Torah portion by members of our synagogue community. Every service is followed by a light "kiddush" luncheon to which everyone is warmly welcome.
Join us for Kiddush and come downstairs for an informal
Torah study at approximately 12:15 pm. Absolutely no prior knowledge or experience (or service attendance) is necessary.
Once a month we have a
"Tot Shabbat" service (7pm) just before the regular Friday night service; all of those under the age of five are welcome. Twice a month we have a
"Children's Service" which occurs in the middle of our regular Friday night service; appropriate for children under the age of nine. Once a month we have a
"Family Education Shabbat" which occurs on Saturday morning, featuring small-group discussions and a dynamic communal sharing of thoughts and ideas around issues relevant to our lives today.
Bar and Bat Mitzvahs are communal, not private celebrations, and take place within the context of our ongoing spiritual community; a community in which we hope you will want to take part.
Everyone is welcome to every service!
