Mourner's Minyan Invitation and Information

We practice Joyful Judaism. But, as is true with all humankind, we are not strangers to death, loss, and tragedy. We see no more important task and obligation of our community than to comfort the mourner, and to show our respect and love by attending Mourner’s Minyans, both at the synagogue and in the home.

Our Tuesday morning minyan has allowed mourners and those commemorating a Yahrzeit to say Kaddish. Please attend that short service as often as your schedule allows.

We maintain a list of congregants who can visit a House of Mourning to make sure that we can make minyan so that the bereaved can say Kaddish and hopefully find some comfort from their synagogue community. We have found that mourners are deeply appreciative of such an outpouring, even when they do not know the people attending. It is enough that another person came and witnessed.

Call the synagogue to get your name on the list.

(Every Tuesday from 7-7:30am, except July and August)
